High-Fibre Blackberry Porridge

A top-down view of creamy pink high-fibre porridge topped with fresh whole blackberries in a white ceramic bowl.

The ultimate foraged blackberry porridge.. made from scratch using handpicked wild berries, this vibrant bowl features creamy oats, a hint of honey, and a burst of late-summer flavour. This classic British breakfast is hearty, wholesome, and made in just one pot. It’s delicious served warm or prepped as overnight oats, making it perfect for busy work mornings or a slow weekend brunch.

Ingredients

  • 30-40g rolled oats

  • 1 handful mixed nuts and seeds (I love using pepitas, sunflower seeds and chia seeds)

  • 200ml milk (any type you prefer)

  • 1 handful fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Add the oats, nuts, seeds, ½ the berries and milk to a small saucepan or bowl

  2. Cook on the stove over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the the oats are soft and creamy (alternatively, microwave for 1-2 minutes until cooked)

  3. Pour the oats into a bowl

  4. Top with the remaining fresh berries

  5. Enjoy warm

Optional: Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if you like a little extra sweetness
